CSR Policy Overview
The CSR Policy reflects the company's continuing commitment to contributing to economic, environmental, and social development in the vicinity of its facilities and operations.
The objective is to:
- Improve the quality of life of communities.
- Foster sustainable development.
- Support the company's workforce and their families.
- Minimise business risks.
- Build reputation and competitive advantage.
- Integrate CSR into the company's broader business approach.
The company's CSR initiatives cover four key platforms:
- Community
- Environment
- Workplace
- Marketplace
The company intends to involve employees in its CSR programmes while addressing the needs of various stakeholders.
Focus Areas & Scope
The policy primarily focuses on:
- Disaster relief.
- Promotion of education.
- Special education.
- Employment-enhancing vocational skills.
- Initiatives benefiting children, women, elderly people, and differently abled persons.
- Livelihood enhancement projects.
The areas and subjects specified in Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013, including amendments made from time to time, serve as the basis for the company's CSR initiatives.
The company will encourage interventions that contribute to the overall development of the communities in which it operates.
Commitment & Focus Areas
The company will undertake activities permitted under the Companies Act, 2013, applicable CSR Rules, and Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013, with particular focus on the following:
- Develop the required capabilities and self-reliance of beneficiaries at the grassroots level, recognising these as prerequisites for social and economic development.
- Undertake affirmative action and interventions such as skill building and vocational training to enhance employability and generate livelihoods for people, including individuals from disadvantaged sections of society.
- Pursue CSR programmes primarily in areas within the economic vicinity of the company's operations to enable close supervision and maximise development impact.
- Carry out CSR programmes in relevant local areas to fulfil commitments arising from requests by government or regulatory authorities, including earmarking and spending funds through government administrative bodies or directly through developmental works in areas surrounding the company's operations.
- Give priority to promoting education, with particular focus on special education and vocational training aimed at improving employment opportunities. The company is also committed to livelihood enhancement projects benefiting children, women, elderly people, differently abled persons, and other vulnerable groups.
- Undertake activities during natural calamities and participate in disaster management initiatives.
- Contribute to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund or other funds established by the Central Government for socio-economic development, relief, and welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, other backward classes, minorities, and women.
